About the role
At Smarthotel, payments are about much more than processing transactions. We believe payment technology should make hotel operations simpler, more efficient and more secure while creating a better experience for both hoteliers and their guests.
As a Payment Consultant, you'll work closely with hotel teams to implement, optimise and support our payment solutions throughout the customer journey. From leading new implementations and delivering onsite go-lives to solving complex payment challenges, training hotel teams and advising customers on best practices, no two days are the same.
You'll collaborate with colleagues across Customer Success, Product, Support, Development, Account Management and our strategic payment partners, like Adyen, to deliver reliable, future-proof payment solutions.
We offer flexible hybrid working, giving you the freedom to work from our Utrecht office, remotely, or a combination of both. The role also includes occasional travel to customers within the Netherlands and abroad.
What you will do
Payment Consulting & Strategy
Advise hotels on their end-to-end payment strategy across online and in-person payment journeys.
Help customers optimise payment processes, improve operational efficiency and recommend solutions that fit their business and regional requirements.
Conduct payment health checks and identify opportunities to improve payment performance, increase processing volumes and introduce new payment methods where appropriate.
Implementation & Go-Live
Lead and support the implementation of Smarthotel's payment solutions for hotels across multiple European markets.
Coordinate onboarding, integrations, testing and go-live activities while working closely with PMS providers, payment gateways and other technology partners.
Support the installation and configuration of payment terminals and ensure customers are ready to operate independently.
Payment Optimisation & Technical Expertise
Analyse payment performance and identify opportunities to improve authorisation rates, reduce costs and optimise payment flows.
Support customers with complex payment-related questions and technical challenges, working closely with internal teams to resolve issues efficiently.
Ensure payment environments remain secure, stable and compliant with industry standards such as PCI-DSS, PSD2 and GDPR.
Customer Enablement
Train hotel operations and finance teams on payment processes, terminal usage and best practices.
Act as a trusted advisor by sharing practical recommendations and helping customers continuously improve the way they manage payments.
Provide ongoing support throughout the customer lifecycle to ensure long-term success.
Collaboration & Product Development
Work closely with Product, Development, Support and Customer Success to improve our payment solutions and customer experience.
Collaborate with our strategic payment partner Adyen and other technology partners to deliver seamless integrations.
Share your payment expertise across the business and contribute to product improvements, sales opportunities and customer education.
